Personal Additions/ Writing
I found this on tumblr and I think it is worthy of sharing because it has taught me some things about writing that I never thought about. I learned that prepositions are not words to end sentences with. Also to avoid cliches and to be consistent.

Personal Additions/Snowmobiling and Tobogganing
In the winter I enjoy snowmobiling and tobogganing in my spare time even though I don't snowmobile as much as I would like to. I only get to snowmobile when I go to my cousins house which is like about four to five times a year. Even though you have to put on lots of warm clothing and your face feels like its about to fall off after you snowmobile it's all worth it in the ending. I go tobogganing usually on the Wood haven hill with my family or friends then have hot chocolate after and it's always a great time. :)
Thinking about dialogue
1. i. Where did you go?
Chelsea and I orginally went in the office to eavesdrop on the students that came in the office but then we went back to the classroom and I started eavesdropping just a small conversation in the classroom.
ii. How long did you listen to the conversation?
I listened and recorded the conversation for about around ten to fifteen minutes.
iii. Who was it between?
The conversation started between just three students in the classroom then it became more students and even the teacher involved.
iii. How did it feel to be recording the conversation?
I felt weird and rebellious because I felt like it wasn't right to be eavesdropping on the conversation. I also felt this way because I found some of the conversation a bit personal.
2. What insights did you gain about the way people speak?
The insights I gained about the way people speak are that some people say certain words a lot like "like" and every person has a different word that they say a lot. I learned that some people speak with more confidence then others while some people are kind of uncertain about what they are saying. I learned that with some people you can't really tell if they are being sarcastic or not. I also learned that some people talk over people and speak a lot louder then other people. I learned that some people speak faster then other people making it harder to understand what they are saying.
3. How can you apply this to your writing?
I can apply this to my writing by when I'm talking about someone that is speaking I could be more descriptive on how they are saying it. If they are saying it quickly, loud, over people or with confidence etc. I can also apply this to my writing by giving characters more personality just with how they communicate with people by describing that very throughly. I can also apply this to my writing by adding something like writing that this person interrupted the conversation and going more in depth on how this conversation is going.
4. How is personality and character revealed through conversation/dialogue?
You can tell that personality and character is revealed through conversation/dialogue because if someone interrupts someone in a conversation they could come off as being rude. You can also tell by someones voice what mood they are in or if they are saying it quietly they could come off as being a very shy person. On the other hand, if a person is talking very loudly they could come off as being very confident.
5. What happens when more then two people participate in a conversation?
When more then two people participate in a conversation, people tend to interrupt other people or speak over people. When more then two people participate in a conversation, it's also harder to understand what people are saying and record them when you are eavesdropping. When more then two people participate in a conversation it's also harder for the people in the conversation to give everyone in that conversation equal attention.
6. What's the most surprising thing you've learned about the way people converse?
The most surprising thing I have learned about the way people converse is that how much you can learn about a person's personality and character just only from fifteen minutes of eavesdropping into their conversation with their friends.
7. What are the differences and similarities between written and spoken conversations?
The differences between written and spoken conversations are that in spoken conversations people interrupt one another a lot and in written authors don't usually describe every time someone interrupts someone or the tone they use every time. The similarities between written and spoken conversations is that they both reveal the character in the person and their personality.

Imagery Quick Write
As I'm walking in this beautiful valley with flowers and baby deer I feel free and everything seems to peaceful and it seems like there is nothing for miles and miles. Until I see this little house right on the edge of a cliff that smells rotten, like my grandma's basement. I creep closer and see all these dangerous cracks and infestations of all types of bugs.
I see the little girl, in her pale pretty red dress staring at me like I'm worthless and disgusting. On the other hand, she smells like morning dew on my roof when I wake up after it poured rain. I wish I could tell her how I feel, how old and depressed I am. Oh how I wish I could walk like her the feeling of being free I would do anything for.
I walk into the molding and dingy house and I feel like someone is here with me, watching me. This rusty bookshelf catches my eye and this one gold book stands out to me. I hesitate for a second as I carefully grab the book from the bookshelf. I open up the pages carefully for they seem fairly fragile, and I start reading the first page.
I can feel this skinny girl inside of me I feel weird but I also feel a sense of belonging and happiness as she opens up one of my owners books. The words are too small to see from up here if only I could make out the tiny black words.
As I read the book I feel the ground crumbling beneath me, I take a step back and it occurs to me at the very moment that there is something under the house. I let out a silent cry as I look out the window and see the cliff turning into a sharp edged cliff. I take a deep breath of the fresh air and take a second to smell the flowers and hop out of the house to see that it now has metal claws. That book must of been magical, I whisper to myself.

Man Crush Monday #mcm / Personal Additions
This is my Man Crush Monday Taylor Caniff. @taylorcaniff. He is one of my role models because he is also happy and positive about everything. Also whenever I need cheering up I just watch one of his you tube videos because we have the same sense of humor.
Working Out / Personal Additions
I'm absolutely in love with working out i don't know if it's because of the feeling I get after I'm done or the results I've gotten so far. My stomach has tightened since I've started working out regularly on my spare and I feel so much better about myself. I think that buying the weight room membership from the school was one of my best purchases I've made in my life to be honest.
Acoustic Guitar / Personal Additions
In my spare time, I like to play my acoustic guitar which looks exactly like the one in the picture. My parents bought it for me about a year ago and I've been playing it ever since. I started off learning how to play it off of a youtube video. My mom also enjoys helping me learn how to play it because my mom became interested in it too. My favourite song I learned would have to be smoke in the water. I remember getting that certain style of guitar because I used to be have an obsession with Justin Bieber as you can see he has it in this picture.

Quick Write/Narcissists
What do you think? Are Young people narcissists? Are all young people narcissists? Is it not that young people are narcissists but that all people are narcissists? if you agree that young people are narcissists why do you think that is ? Do you think that they will grow out of it eventually? What can we do about it?
I think that some young people and even adults are narcissists because most young people follow each other and also take selfies so they can fit in. Also when people take a picture of themselves and get compliments and likes it boosts their self confidence but mostly too much to the point where it becomes excessive. I don't think that all young people are narcissists because some don't care and don't even care about fitting in or are already happy enough with themselves. I think it's mostly young people that are narcissists because adults don't have enough time and usually don't even know how to work instagram, twitter or the internet in general. I agree that young people are narcissists and I think that is because the media puts us down with all the pictures of models that are photo shopped. I think that young people will grow out of it eventually because they will have a lot more responsibilities soon so they will have no time to take " selfies". I don't think we can do anything about it.

Quick Write/If I was a leaf
You are a leaf and fall has started. Explain how you feel about this.
I feel sad and worthless. I feel like the tree never even needed or wanted me in the first place. I feel insecure about myself because I'm turning brown and ugly colors. I feel like my whole life is crumbling before my very eyes. I fall down onto the grass and the tree looks mad at me and terrifying because it's looking down upon me and it's so tall. The tree to me is a giant and to everything else I feel like nothing. I wonder why I even exist if all I did was fall apart. I keep on reminiscing on my life before this on how I used to be a beautiful shade of green and my beautiful family is all around me. I felt on top of the world because I was up higher then pretty much everything I could see.
Now I can't even see my family I have no idea where they are. It's like a war just happened everyone is injured, crumbling, and broken. These little tiny legs keep on crawling and walking all over me. I just want this to all end.

Quick Writes/Minions
Quick Right Minions
If I got a set of minions for a week I would get to do all my chores like do the laundry and dishes, scrub the toilets etc. I would also get them to do my homework for me because I have a lot and that is very time consuming. I would also get them to straighten my hair because that takes forever in the morning. I would also get them to do my makeup and pick out one of my outfits for me since I'm so indisive. I would also get them to put my tumblr name in tumblr plug because it's really boring to do but it gains you more followers. I would get them to make my room look like a tumblr room like put tumblr pictures up etc. I would also get them to work part time for me so I could have extra money. I would get them to massage my back and my feet and basically my whole body. I would get them to find all the latest music from itunes like the genres that I like and download them on my phone for me. I would also get them to clean the whole house like not only chores but the whole house because then my mom would be happier. I would also get them to help resolve the arguments that my family has everyday.

writer's note for six word memoirs
#1
How does the image and the words fit together?
The image and the words fit together because the image is my idea of this picture perfect paradise which is what my six word memoir is all about.
What editing techniques did you perform on the photo? Why?
I used an edit that made the water stand out more because it makes the water look more beautiful and helps create the whole idea of this paradise.
How did you use punctuation to clarify your message?
I put a comma in between picture and perfect so you have more time to think about the meaning of the words.
Discuss your font: color, style, and placement. How was it appropriate for the text and image?
The text color is blue because that color reminds me of paradise (ocean, sky etc.) I placed it on top of all the pictures so you can see the pictures clearly (They're important). The font style is hand-writing because I find hand-writing very calming.
#2
How does the image and the words fit together?
The image and the words fit together because Chelsea is in my picture and she's also in my six word memoir.

Do you have a blog? Tell me about it.
Yes I have instagram and I honestly find it so inspiring. Instagram motivates me to take bright and inspiring images, or even plain but interesting ones. This one girl really inspired me with her pictures of sunsets and bright slurpees and her bright room and she is always optimistic. I learned that even just a picture can make you think positive. Everything about her just gave me good vibes so I decided to make my instagram similiar and I gained lots of followers. Everyone on instagram is so friendly and it feels like I'm in a separate world where everyone actually gets along and everything is in it's perfect place.
When you read what happens in your mind?
As soon as my fingers open up the covers of a book my imagination becomes a part of my mind. A new world begins and I'm a huge part of it even from the very beginning. I usually imagine myself as being the main character and I'm doing everything that the main character is doing. I feel like nothing else matters and all my worries and thoughts disappear. I feel all the emotions that the characters experiance. If someone dies in the book I feel like I've known them for a long time and I cry. I also feel like when there is strong relationships in the book I feel the relationships as if I'm in the same one.
What is the best book you've ever read?
The best book that I have ever read was Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer because it always gave me goosebumps and kept me reading and wondering what was going to happen next. The book was also really romantic but also heartbreaking. My favourite part was when Bella, the main character that's dating a vampire, ends up having a baby and her soul mate Edward Cullen has to turn her into a vampire. Even though vampires aren't real, I feel that Stephanie Meyer really brings vampires to life in this book.
What words pop into your mind when you think of reading? Why?
Imagination, escape and relaxation come into my mind when I think of reading. Firstly, imagination because I imagine the characters coming to life and I imagine the scenes of the book in my mind. Secondly, escape because whenever I want to escape from reality I open up a book that I'm interested in. Lastly, relaxation because I feel so relaxed and nothing else matters or goes through my mind except for what's happening in the book.
Do you have a smart phone with internet access?
Yes, I have a smart phone with internet access and I think it comes in handy a lot. Basically the whole world and anything you want to know about you can find out in the matter of seconds. You can also download apps that could help you with any subject that you need help with in school. I think it's a great and effective way to connect with the beautiful world and find out all it's features. Also an easy way to keep in touch with friends especially ones that may have moved away. You also in a way feel like your a part of society and that you "belong" since everyone else is on this website or app. I think my smart phone is great for learning new things and keeping in touch with the world.
